Friends Are The Sunshine of Life – Crafty Secrets

Hello everybody, I hope you are enjoying your weekend, today was a nice sunshiny day here in California.  My card today is the first of four, and I can’t wait to share the others over the next few days.  So, check back ;)  The Copic Markers listed below are what I used on all four cards so when you see the list it’s long.

Instructions:

1. Color image with Copic Markers, cut out.
2. With the Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug folder, and white cardstock - emboss. In this case, the card front is the same size as the folder.
3. Add ribbon, image, buttons and sentiment as shown.
4. Flower: cut and emboss Lovely Lilac cardstock with Blossom Nestabilities(tm) three times. First flower: Find the center of the flower, cut out one petal (like a piece of pie). Second flower: do the same as the first flower, only this time cut out two petals. Third flower: find the center, but do not cut. Take first and second flower, overlap the two edges where you cut out the petal, and glue in place (hot glue gun), let dry.  Both should look like a cone.  I mash the pointed ends down so the flower can sit flat.  Layer as shown.  Apply glue over entire flower with a glue pen, add glitter and button. 
5. Add white mat behind the card front.
6. Assemble as shown.

Gage 6 X 6 Card - Scrapbook page CHA

Look at that face……

This project started as a card, but will end up beginning in my daughters little 6 x 6 scrapbook album for our grandson.  Each month we we will be adding new pictures of Gage’s first year.

The wallet size photo fits perfectly on the Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Large, and the colors in the photo helped me choose what cardstock to work with.  The little ponies were colored to match the browns and tans in the photo also.  Once the picture size was determined, the rest of the card just fell into place.  Mat in 1/4” increments or smaller if needed to fit your page, then mat the rest of your items the same way.  Add ribbon, buttons, and layer as shown.

Pretty Lady – Just For Fun Rubber Stamps

Hello everybody.  Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve stamped, and I’m so glad to be back ;)  But I have to be honest, I had such a hard time concentrating while making this card.  I don’t think I have my mojo back completely, but I did enjoy coloring this Pretty Lady image from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, and that ribbon…. who wouldn’t enjoy playing with May Arts Ribbon LOL!

This card is 6 x 4 1/4 inches in size (legal).  I didn’t mean to make it that big, but that’s how it turned out.  The stamped flourish up the left side of the main image is from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps also. 

Well it’s nice to be back. I’m a little rusty but I will get there.  A huge THANKS to all of you for being so supportive.

1. Stamp scroll image, and cut it out. Go over with Pink Stickles, let dry.
2. Color lady image with Copic Markers.
3. Cut and emboss with Spellbinders Die Template.
4. Tie bow with May Arts Ribbon using the Bow-Easy. Add ribbon and bow to card.
5. Add lady and scroll image.
6. Cover buttons with VersaMark stamp pad, then add Heat & Stick  Powder, and heat with heating tool.
7. Add glitter to buttons, then Silver Cord.
8. Go around edges of card with Pink Stickles – let dry.

Pastel Sunflower

Well, I’m still trying to get my mojo back after being sick.  I do feel soooo much better, but have no energy to do anything, I just end up back on the couch watching TV.  I did try and stamp a few things this weekend, but they ended up in the trash.  I’m getting there, just slow.

I made this card a few months back but never posted it here on my blog so, I thought I would share it with you today. 

NOTE: I thought my good friend Cathy would enjoy this project today especially the color pink ;)  LOL

Instructions:

1) Cut vanilla cardstock 6” x 5 1/2”, Iced Orange cardstock ¼” larger.

2) Cut and emboss one edge of vanilla using the Contemporary Hearts Borderabilities.

3) Add ribbon, and bow with Glue Dots, then attach to Iced Orange card back.

4) Cut and emboss flower (twice) with Iced Orange, and leaf (twice) with Iced Kiwi.

5) Sponge flower center with Tattered Rose Distress Ink, and leaves with Juniper Dye Pad.

6) Add Flower Soft and pearl.

7) Assemble as shown.

Looking back at 2009

Today is the first time I felt like being on the computer since being sick, so I started looking at some of my favorite blogs trying to get my mojo back, and I came across this wonderful idea over on Vicki's blog about reflecting back with 10 of her favorite projects she made in 2009. She mentions she got the idea from one of her friends, but it is such a great idea I thought I would do the same. Therefore, in no particular order here are my favorite projects for 2009. I’m thrilled to share my Spellbinders™ Suprise Party!! project with you. This quick, simple, and sweet baby card/frame would be the perfect gift for any new mom. The baby in the photo is my Grandson, Gage. When this picture was taken he was three months old, he loves to make faces at you. I was lucky enough to capture him raising his eyebrows at me, so he could show off those baby blue eyes ;)

 

 

 

 

 

When cutting the S4-236 Baby Borderabilities® Petite, made sure the paper is wide enough to fit the die template, but long enough to attach the large frame. Take the two largest die templates in the S4-169 Small Labels  S4-169 Small Labels set and make the center frame that is closest to the photo. It helps hide the edges of the picture. Sponge both the S5-020 Nursery Time Frameabilities®, and S4-236 Baby Borderabilities® Petite with blue ink. Add your ribbon and bling.

For my second project, I wanted to share this scrapbook layout I made using these sweet die templates, and another photo of Gage.

Cut/emboss, and sponge the following: two S7-018 Big Scalloped Border, one S5-020 Nursery Time Frame, and one S4-236 Baby Borderabilities® Petite and set aside.

Trim ¼” on two sides of the blue cardstock with circles, and layer on the frosted yellow cardstock. Cut the green striped patterned paper for the center, making sure you can see the blue cardstock under it.

Add your green, yellow; and blue brads to both of the Big Scalloped Border Grand die cuts. Decide how far from the edge you want the first one, and attach with dimensional adhesive. Add the green striped patterned paper underneath the Big Scalloped Border Grand die cuts, and attach with adhesive. Do the same with the other piece so they look like a row of circles. Add ribbon. Sponge the seven small circles with the blue, green; and yellow stamp pads. With the VersaMark pad, cover each circle, duck, and letters, then cover with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Attach to Big Scalloped Border Grand with dimensional adhesive. Do the same for all of the circles on this page, even the ones in the center.

For the center of the layout, cut/emboss the S4-114 Standard Circle Large in various sizes. The four circles in the center of the page were embossed using the I2-1011 New Arrival Impressabilities™, while the largest circle at the bottom was only sponged so some journaling can be added. Cut/emboss the S4-115 Petite Scallop Circle Large with blue cardstock, layer as shown, and attach with dimensional adhesive.

Add the S5-020 Nursery Time Frame as shown.

It's been awhile.....

I can’t believe it almost been a month since my last blog post. But, I do have a few good reason’s. When I posted that last post on December 8th, I was so sick. It all started with my right eye swelling shut, then my nose, and an infection in my right ear all due to a sever sinus infection., Believe me, it wasn’t pretty, nor did I care LOL!! But, that’s not all. After several visits to my Dr. she told me I had walking Pneumonia , and that’s what kicked my _ _ _ (you know what). I missed a couple weeks of work, and went back against my Dr.‘s wishes, plus the Holidays. Trust me I had no energy what so ever. The medication's they put me on made me very sleepy so when I did get home from work, I went right to bed. I still get really tired. So, longs story short, I’m ready for the New Year.

I wish I had a project/card I could post today, but I don’t L. I am working on a few things for CHA, so bare with me, I hope to have a couple of cards posted soon. I want to thank a lot of you for checking in on me J your emails were very sweet, and sorry I did not answer. I‘ve been playing catch up because the computer wasn’t on.
