Spirit of Christmas

I must admit this time of year is very difficult for me. See, I lost my mother two years ago right before Christmas, and my brother last year right after Christmas. So, I don't feel the Happy and Merry that I remember it should be.

What's all of this got to do with this Calendar? I made this calendar in memory of my mother and how much she truly loved this time of year with all the glitz, bling, bows, and red, she loved the color red. I can remember as a child that our home was border line tacky with all the decorations, lights and presents!!! She shopped all year long, then hide everything just so she would have tons of gifts for us come Christmas morning. To the family she was always known as Mrs. Clause, she always had a little something for everybody and it never mattered if she was given something in return. Her gift was that SHE had given.

It took me several days to make this post not because of any difficulty!!!!! I kept taking it apart trying to get that feeling my mother would approve of, and I really think she would love this one. So, as a tribute to my mother and her love of Christmas.

Finally got this one finished!!! Everything shown here is from Crafty Secrets, with the exception of a few embellishments This calendar was probably one of the hardest I’ve made so far …. But that’s because of all the embossing and cutting. I love how this one turned out.

Happy Halloween Calendar

WOW! I’m lovin’ Tattered Angels new Glimmer Mist from Eclectic Paperie!! I spoke with Vicki Chrisman on the phone the other day, and we talked about this wonderful product. She suggested that I take my project outside to take my pictures…. I’ve never made a calendar before, and must admit, I wasn’t looking forward to it. But, now that I have two finished, I’m eager to complete the rest of the year. Seems that when we step outside our comfort zone is when we find out what we’ve been missing *wink*

September Calendar

I love autumn!!! The colors are just wonderful, and that’s what I wanted to work around with this calendar for September. I was excited to use three of Crafty Secrets new stamp sets. Calendar, Sexy Numbers and Frame it. I can’t wait to finish my October calendar and the rest of the months, so you will be seeing more of these. All supplies are from Crafty Secrets except the flowers, bling, ribbon, and Chocolate Chip Cardstock.
