Hello there, today I have a quick card to share with you.  I've been seeing lots of projects on the Internet using Washi & Fabric Tape, it looks so cool I thought I would give it a try.  I attached the Washi & Fabric tape to a piece of cardstock, and cut it out because I have a textured (embossed) piece of cardstock under it.  I made the flower using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One die template, then sponged with Distress Inks.  I finished the card by adding some extra embellishments I've had for awhile.

Hi everybody!

Today is a very sad day for me because this is my last post as a member of Spellbinders Blog Team :(  You have know idea how much I hate saying that...  Designing for Spellbinders the last several years has been the opportunity of a life time, they are not just a company, they have become like family.  I want to thank Cathy, Kelly, Cindy, Kim, Stacey and Jeff, you're all so giving, and truly make Spellbinders the wonderful company it is today.  And to the talented designers on the Design Team, Inspiration Team, Spellbloggers, and Blog Team, you all "ROCK" ladies & gents, it was an honor to have worked along side you.  

For me, time become a factor with things going on here at home, I wish there were more hours in a day so I could make the number of projects required.  On a good note, I will continue posting projects using Spellbinders wonderful products, just not as many each month until things slow down at home.

I wanted to show a close up of the embossed black background with Modeling Paste scraped over it, allowing the embossed design to show through, then lightly sprayed with Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist.  

 

 

Here I wanted to show the gauze draped over the bottom portion of the tag allowing some of it to dangle from the bottom, and sprayed with more Glimmer Mist.

All My Love - Card

Hi there, I'm back again today with one more Mother's Day card, I think this one is my favorite.  I like working with pastel colors, and Melissa Frances cardstock was a perfect fit for this small card.  Once again I used a new Spellbinders die called Ornamental Tags One, then stamped my sentiment. I made the flower with a light pink cardstock, then painted the petals with a paint brush and White Gesso so it would be a white/pink combination (very light in color).  Finally, I added foam tape between each layer, and assembled as shown.

Mother's Day Card

Hello again, today's project is a design I've been making since 2004... the hat card.  Previous cards are posted in my gallery on Splitcoaststampers.  Back in 2004 I made my flowers by stamping images, then cutting out each layer.  Today I use Spellbinders wonderful die templates that give a real 3D look (progress is a good thing).  Whenever I make this little hat, I'm always asked for the template, here is the link.  I used the same supplies for the hat as I did for the box here, the little hat (card), and the box for the gift, will be given to my wonderful Mother-in-law for Mother's Day :)

Mother's Day Gift Box

Hello there, today's project started with an empty cookie box I thought would be perfect  to decorate for a Mother's Day gift.  Graphic 45's Secret Garden paper collection was used to cover the box, and for the flowers.  Spellbinders die templates were used to make the flowers, with the exception of the pink Prima rose and leaves.  All the flowers were shaded with distress inks, then arranged and glued to a doily. I then glued flowers/doily to a lacey ribbon band that goes all the way around the box.  I will be posting part II of this project in a day or so :)

Because this project is larger than a card it was difficult to get a good picture, so I took LOTS of pictures for you to view the flowers better.

Pears & Sunflowers

Hi everyone, Graphic 45 French Country paper collection is stunning, the colors are beautiful.  Some of the paper in this collection has sunflowers and pears in the pattern, and that's where the inspiration for today's card came from, plus, it gave me the opportunity to use Spellbinders Nested Pears Nestabilities. I used a dry brush technique to color the pears with Distress Inks, and I'm thrilled with the way they turned out :)  The sunflower has four circles layered in the center that were crumbled up to add texture, and Antique White Acrylic paint was brushed over the edges, and finished with Flower Soft. 

Our oldest daughter Tammy and her husband have Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and often ride them to Pismo Beach for a quick get-away, which is what they did last week.   They wanted to start home Thursday but due to high winds (50+ mph), they decided to stay an extra day, and start home on Friday. On Friday the winds had calmed, and not as bad as they were the day before, so they started home.  They were taking their time, and almost out of the hills, when a big gust of wind pushed my daughter's motorcycle completely off the road, down a 20 ft. embankment.  My son-in-law noticed what had happened in his rear view mirror, and turned around to get back and help Tammy. The car behind her, thank goodness stopped to help her.  The good thing is she went one way, and her motorcycle went the other.  They said she went air born for about 30 ft. and slid down a grassy hill side for about 80 ft.  She had her protective gear on, leathers and helmet, that probably saved her life.  Although she suffers with a very sore back, broken bone in her hand, cuts and bruises she is alive, and for that we are very thankful.  We told her that God was truly with her, and that he's not finished with her yet.   We were told nobody walks away from an accident like that, but she did and for that we are thankful.

Flower Basket

I want to thank all of you for your well wishes for my puppy Missy.  She is doing better, but still not her same old self :(  I've moved a lot of my crafting stuff to the coffee table in the living room, and sit on a small wooden stool so she can lay next to me on the couch.  She's such a sweet thing, and it breaks my heart to see her this way, she's like one of my kids...  Here is a picture of my Missy.  Keeping fingers crossed...

 

 

Today's basket idea came from a tutorial I found on Splitcoaststampers by Leigh O'Brien.  She has step-by-step instructions, and provides a template for the basket you can download, plus Beate created a video that's at the bottom of the post. You can find both here.   After I cut out the basket, I used Spellbinders Basket Weave 3D M-Bossabilities™ folder, and the Faux Letterpress technique to create the look of a real basket, assemble according to the instructions with the exception of the little pieces on the side, I used Spellbinders Celtic Motifs for a more decorative look.

Vintage Christmas Ornament/Tag - Spellbinders

 Hello dear bloggers...   Since my last post, I spend four days at The Gilded Life Spellbound event in Pasadena.  I'm so excited about the projects I made, more about that later, and pictures.   Came home for a couple of days, then my oldest daughter and I drove to Arizona so I could attend the Spellbinders retreat.   OMG!! what a wonderful time it was seeing every one in person, and not by e-mail.  My head is spinning with all the new things I have learned the last couple of weeks.  After returning home it was catch up time for things around the house, and spending time with DH :)

Now its time to catch up on my blog.  Once again I'm way behind with team commitments, so I'm going to have many posts the next few days, PLUS doing things for CHA.  I can't wait for you to see whats coming your way :)

Today I'm sharing a Vintage Christmas Ornament/Tag with you.  It was easy to put together, and I love the end result.

• Place large ornament die on dark cardstock,  trace around the edge with a pencil then cut out with scissors, distress edges.
• Cut/emboss large ornament die template on lighter cardstock with the Grand Calibur.
• Cut/emboss Edgeabilities die templates with the Grand Calibur as shown using pink cardsotck.  (Note: after cutting/embossing the first edge, I placed my ribbon on the cardstock under the decorative edge so I could get the width needed to make my second decorative cut).
• Place your decorative edges on the large cut/embossed ornament with removable tape.  Turn over, and trim the edges following the ornament edge with scissors.  Repeat this step for your ribbon.
• Make your flower, I've made many videos in the past showing how to make this flower, if this is the first time you've visited my blog, here's the link Flower video..
• Place foam tape between each layer, and assemble as shown.

Halloween Wonderland

Hello there, my project today is made from lots of old scraps, and the Sunflower die I used is no longer available :(  But, I really like the colors and flowers, so I went ahead and made this tag. I did make a video last year (here) when I was on eclectic Paperie's Design Team showing how I made the flowers (plus other things LOL).  The tag has lots of layers, texture, and beautiful ribbon.

Little Darlings

Hi there dear bloggers, I'm done with all the summer running around, and looking forward to being home.  I do have to admit I had a blast with my kids/family, but happy to get back to a normal routine.  

My card today is so pretty in real life, I love the Graphic 45 Little Darling cardstock so I'm a little bias lol!, and of course I love making flowers, so it was all a perfect fit for me :)  I made all the flowers and leaves from white cardstock, and air brushed them with Copic Markers (lightly).
