Pink Crepe Paper Flower Video

Hello there blog friends.  Today I have a flower tutorial/video showing you how I made this sweet crepe paper flower.  First, I want to apologize for the video quality...  I recorded in HD, and it looks great on my computer, but when I watched it on YouTube, not so good :(   My original video was over 35 minutes long, so I had to take a lot out.

For my card today, I used JustRite's Scrolled Vine background stamp, stamped on white cardstock with VersaMark ink, then heat set white embossing powder.  With a small paint brush, water and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, I lightly painted in areas of the background image.  Fold white cardstock in half, and place Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle die template so the corners of the die are placed over the fold on the cardstock, then cut/emboss.  Now, cut/emboss pink cardstock using the same die set as before, only the next size down in the set.  Layer all cardstock with foam tape, but before attaching the stamped layer (top layer), add your ribbon then attach.  With your crepe paper, cut your flower and leaves.

Flourishes BBB21 - The Beauty of Friendship

 

Hello Everyone!!!  Notice the new logo above?  Yes, I'm so excited to be back with Flourishes as a member of the Bring Back Beautiful Design Team!!!  and designing with these talented ladies with Flourishes.  What some of you may not know, I was a member of Flourishes first Design Team, back in 2008, and had to step down due to my past day job.  But I'm now retired from that day job, and thrilled to be back again.  There are more new faces, and changes with Flourishes, just in case you missed it, you can check here for all the details.

For this month’s Bring Back Beautiful challenge, we’d like to honor those in our lives that bless us with their friendship. The challenge is just that simple – make a card or creation with a friend in mind!

My project today is approximately 6 1/4" x 8" in size, and perfect for framing, but hard to get a good picture in my small photo space, so I took LOTS of pictures so you can see the small details up close.  The pink base is cardstock, but the top is unbleached muslin.  I thought I would follow the name of the stamp "Feminine Charm", and make this very girlie with soft colors.  The flowers at the top were made with lace and Glubers, the image was colored with Copic Markers.  Muslin is easy to cut with die templates, you may need to clip some threads here and there, but fun to create a soft, lacy look like the leaves at the top.  I even stamped my sentiment on muslin, and cut it out with scissors - perfect.

I do need to mention something about the Copic Markers I used... Flourishes carries exclusive color combinations that you won't find anywhere else, you can see them here.  In my supply list below, you will see I broke the image down into sections, so you will also see some of them listed two or three times.  I linked each color to the collections Flourishes carries.

Newer JustRite Releases - Easter Blessings

Good morning!  Today, and for the next few days, JustRite's Design Team will be showing projects made using JustRite's new stamps released at CHA, so be sure and visit  JustRite's blog each day to see the line up through Sunday showcasing new projects.

Little Valentine - Spellbinders

Hello there bloggers,  as you can see I was able to get my computer to cooperate with me LOL!! actually, it wasn't the computer it was me...  I accidently clicked the wrong thing (not realizing it), and that's where my trouble started LOL!  Apple was able to figure it out real fast, so now I'm good to go.  

This would have been posted sooner but Monday is cleaning day around here, and that had to get done.  Now I need to focus on my craft room, it's a mess, and I have a difficult time making projects when I spend more time looking for things, than making a project.  Anyway, I have a simple/sweet little Valentine gift bag I want to share with you that I made for my Granddaughter (19 years old).  Plus I have a quick step-by-step tutorial/video showing you how it was made.  This little project can be use for any occasion, with any theme.  It was fun, fast, and lately that's what I like.

Elegant Trio - Spellbinders CHA Projects

Hello there, it's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'm working like a mad woman trying to finish this post so I can go back and watch the game, but I really wanted to get this post up for you today :)

The projects shown here were made for CHA, so I had to get an OK from Spellbinders to post them on my blog so soon.  I did receive their email last night giving me the go ahead, I was thrilled.  I do have a step-by-step video/tutorial showing you how I made the largest project, the box and card do not have a step-by-step in the video, but it's just like the largest project.

DH is going on a golf trip tomorrow, and I have many projects started I need to finish while he is away.  All the grandkids are coming over to spend the evening with me so I would not be alone LOL!!  Grandma is a big chicken... they come and stay with me when I'm home alone.  My oldest daughter is coming with them so it should be fun for sure.
