I save every card I make on my little Flash Disk, and today I was looking at some of the projects I’ve made over the last two years (a lot!!). Last year at this time I was on Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design Team, and each month we had to follow a theme. In May 2007 the theme was Around the World in 80 Days! We then posted our cards into the member’s only gallery for viewing. I’m sure most of you have already seen this card, but I thought I would post it here today; it’s truly one of my all time favorites.
What better way to travel then in Cinderella’s Coach, Yes….A royal ride indeed!!!! This idea came to mind while looking through one of my old Walt Disney art books.
The large pumpkin from Carved & Candlelit was stamped on Blush Blossom cardstock, then stamped with the Essential Glue Pad from Eclectic Paperie, and covered with glitter.
The door was made with Fiskars Large Squeeze Punch, and a little heart brad used for the door handle.
The gold elements were made using French Mail, and Cherubs stamp sets from Crafty Secrets. On vellum cardstock using VersaMark, stamp the heart (door), pumpkin top, and both axles, gold embossing power, heat-set, and cut them out. For the wheels use the 1 3/8” circle punch, roll the edges in the VersaMark Pad, and gold emboss. The VersaMark Pen was used to make the spokes, and gold embossed. Punch wheel centers, and place gold brads.
Sponge Mellow Moss and Bashful Blue on Whisper White cardstock, stamp corners with stamps from French Mail. Attach white cardstock to Stella Ruby-Basic Grey from Eclectic Paperie, then to Gold cardstock.
Because of all the gold and glitter, I didn’t want to over embellish to take away from the coach, so I cut two strips of Stella Ruby-Basic Grey, and attached on one end of card. The “Once upon a time…” stamp was a great find at Michaels for $1.00, truly added the finishing touch to this fairytale card *wink*.
Stamps: Cherubs and French Mail from Crafty Secrets, Carved & Candlelit from Stampin’ Up! Reverse stamp - Unknown, Once upon a time… - Michael’s $1.00 stamp.
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gold, Vellum Cardstock - from Stampin’ Up! Stella Ruby-Basic Grey from Eclectic Paperie.
Stamp Pads: Mellow Moss, Black, Blush Blossom, VersaMark and Bashful Blue - all from Stampin' Up!
Misc.: Ribbon, Sponge, Gold Embossing Powder, 13/8” Circle Punch, Gold Brads - from Stampin’ Up! Fiskars Large Squeeze Punch, and Heart Brad - Unknown.
