About my card today. LOVE the colors.. when I make a card using patterned background paper, I will try to design and embellish all elements for the card using the same colors in the paper as shown here. I cut and embossed tan (Crafty Brown) cardstock using the Big Scalloped Rectangles Large #5 die template, I didn’t like the solid color of tan behind that very sweet image from Crafty Secrets Little Dolls Image & Journal Notes, so with a cotton ball, I used both Snow Cap, and Cloudy Blue Ranger Pigment Ink Pads to try and match the blue in the patterned background paper. When dry, take the VersaMark stamp pad, and stamp the little image in each scallop then sprinkle with white embossing powder, heat set. The butterfly, rose, floral accents, and little label with the sentiment were all make from white cardstock. To tone down the white, I again used the Snow Cap, and Cloudy Blue Pigment Ink Pads to match the blue in the background paper. The reason I used Pigment Ink Pads for this is they stay wet much longer then the Dye Pads, thus, I could blend the colors together better. I love this Blue Awning 12 x 12 Double-Sided Specialty Papers from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, and that ribbon, will…. I love it even more LOL!
Yesterday was a blur, from staying up all night the night before LOL, but I did get a chance to make this card late yesterday afternoon, just didn’t finish my blog post.
Thanks for visiting. As always, I appreciate all your sweet comments.
Linda ;)
