Happy Friday everybody, I have a fun card and tutorial to share with you today with this cute image by Suzie Blu from eclectic Paperie. I love the name of this image “Creative Girl”, and the sentiment around the edges say “I am a creative girl. I have the right to make my mark. I deserve a rewarding creative life.” Is that cool or what… I love it because all of us (you) are creative, and leave our marks for some many to see and share. When I read that my creative juices kicked into high gear, and I wanted to do my best LOL… Anyway, I’ve been sick today (cold/flu), and I’m going to cut this short, but I do have a short tutorial.
I would love to hear what you think about this image. And thanks for visiting today.
Linda ;)
I wanted my image background to match my paper, so I used a scrap piece of paper and started playing with different stamp pads that I thought looked good.
Here I used two different colors for the background (use your lightest colors first). I stamped the image a second time with a darker color and cut out the girl.
I used Copic Markers to color in all base colors for the entire image, and shaded in with PrismaColor Pencils. When finished I really wanted her eye and necklace to stand out more so I used a black pen.
Here you see my background paper from BasicGrey, the background of the image (you can see I added more shading using PrismaColor Pencils), and the girl.
I stamped the entire image once again with a black stamp pad, and cut it out. I also added glitter to the background – not much.
Cut and emboss your die, and shade with Distress Ink.
Here I just wanted to measure how long the die needed to be, and a quick placement of the image. (Nothing is taped down, it’s just to make sure everything fits).
Cut and emboss your flowers, then sponge (front and back).
Curl your flower petals using a styles, and a pad underneath.
The flower on the left has brown Flower Soft, while the image on the right has two different colors of Flower Soft.
Assemble card as shown. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I find them much easier to follow.
Enjoy – Linda ;)
