Well, it's Saturday afternoon and I finally finished this project. Our oldest daughter is totally remodeling her house, and you know that means new decorations ☺. One of our Granddaughters loves the movie "Alice in Wonderland" with Johnny Depp, so I thought I would make her a wall hanging for her new room. She loves pink as much as I do the difference being, I like to craft with it, she likes to decorate with it. I don't have one pink item in my home, she has TONS...
Anyway, it took me a couple of days to make this wall hanging, but loved the idea I was making something for her. I started with an 8 1/2 x 11" blank canvas, painted it with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio paint, then stamped some images from one of Crafty Secrets new stamp set called "Tea with Alice". I cut a piece of pink paper, sewed about 1/4" from the edge with the sewing machine, then distressed the edges. All of the images are from Crafty Secrets new releases called Wonderland Tea - Creative Scraps. For the main image, I used Spellbinders™ new Fleur de Lis Rectangles die template to give a girly, yet elegant touch. The little rabbit in the upper right hand corner has a stamped sentiment from the same stamp set "Tea with Alice" from Crafty Secrets. Also, to help keep that girly feel, I used the flower image (upper right hand corner) from another Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps called "Little Blessings". But as much as I love putting all of this together, I think my favorite part was making the roses, and ruffle... The ruffle was made by cutting and embossing Spellbinders #S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand, and then making it look like fabric. This is one of the techniques I will be teaching at The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2011 next month, and I will post a video somewhere down the line. And finally I added the beautiful pink May Arts Ribbon.
As always, thanks for visiting today.
Linda ❤

I've been watching you for awhile Linda and I have to say you are one of the best out there. I love this wall hanging you just finished in "Pink". I changed my decor to shabby chic and so "pink" is in for me right now. Being up in Oakhurst, it may not be the norm but......who cares about the norm. Your living space should make you feel good, right? Keep up the beautiful work. We all love everything you do and are always anxious to see more! I just love seeing your blog pop up on my screen.....more goodies to look at !!
.....and I just want to say thank you for the inspiration. It's because of you I just finished a big compartmental shadow box in Victorian/shabby chic theme and was it fun!!
