Good morning blogging friends! Today is day one of JustRite Papercraft May Release, and I have a fun altered box to share with you, using new images called Anchors Away, and Vintage Travel Background Stamps.
Apply a thin wash of white paint to box (1 part paint, 3 parts water), you still want the wood grain to show through. Set aside, and let dry.
I applied Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to my stamp, stamped on a scratch piece of paper, then on my cardstock for a much lighter image, three times - once for the top, once for the sides (cut in half), and once for the front and back (cut to fit).
With Copic Markers, and an airbrushing system (before cutting,) shade in the background image.
Cut images to fit box, and glue in place, let dry.
Stamp the rest of the images (Anchor, buttons, boat etc) with Chipped Sapphire. I cut the smaller images out with scissors, and the larger ones were cut/embossed with the Grand Calibur and JustRite's Nested Oval Medallion Label Die, then add foam tape to each piece.
I air brushed the Twisted Cord with Copic Markers, then started with one end in the center of a 1" Gluber, and coiled it up leaving a long peace to arrange on the box top. When I liked the way it looked, I glued it in place.
Add all the remaining images including the Spinners, and Sprocket Gears.
That's it for me today, be sure and visit the designers listed below for more inspiration.
