Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been absent for awhile, but my family has had a lot of things going on, not to mention trying to get ready for Christmas. First I wanted to tell you about this lovely little Christmas ornament I made. Last month at Spellbound 3 in Pasadena, CA, I got to see Shea Fragoso and her mom Debbie Murray’s new line for A Gilded Life by Spellbinders, and this little church is one of their new dies called Beacon St. Chapel. Here’s a tutorial showing you how to assemble that lovely little church. Because I wanted to use this as an ornament, I did not add anything extra like a round base because it would be to heavy for the tree, so I left it sweet and simple.
And here’s my little ornament on the tree.
So here is what has been going on for my family:
On December 1st my lovely granddaughter had a beautiful baby boy. He was premature, a little over 5 lbs, but he’s doing just fine.
On December 7th, my mother-in-law Hazel passed away… She fought a long hard battle with cancer. We loved her much, and miss her more.
Last but not least, about 10 days ago California had a huge rain/wind storm. My daughter and son-in-law have a large building that’s a furniture store. When that storm hit, it blew half of the roof off, and damaged the furniture inside.
Keeping fingers crossed that 2015 is a better year for sure.
That’s it for now, but I will be back soon. Remember all supplies are listed below with links.
It feels good to be back. Thanks for visiting - Linda {{{Hugs}}} ❤❤
Supplies used:
Cardstock: Bazzill Mirror Silver/Gold Combo – The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
Ribbon: May Art WrinkledRibbon, Gold Metallic String (I use Full Spools) – The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
Spellbinders®: Grand Calibur Die Cutting & Embossing Machine® Beacon St. Chapel (pre-order).
NOTE: You can also find Spellbinder Die Templates at the The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
Misc.: Liquid Glue - The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Gold Glass Glitter – A Gilded Life.
Congratulations, condolences and sympathy to you and yours. May your New Year be a wonderful one.
I have tried every link provided and cannot find where to purchase or pre-order the chapel die. Any suggestions? It is so adorable and would fit right in with my alternate hobby, which is miniatures. It seems that leaving a bottom off of it also allows light to shine up through the windows! Lovely!

Linda, your church ornament is just outstanding! I imagine your tree is spectacular, with all of your creations! I'm sorry to hear of your MIL's passing, but she's at peace now--you did so much for her during the difficult process of living with cancer and I'm sure she appreciated the love and care she received. Enjoy that new great-grandson--what a joy little ones are and I know whenever I hold one of my grandkids, the worries of the world seem to melt away. Hope your daughter and SIL get their business back up and running. Have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to your future projects. I haven't been keeping up with my favorite blogs for awhile, as I usually do; but have been in full Christmas mode, trying not to be last minute as sometimes happens.

Congrats on your new granddaughter, hope she continues to grow strong. Sorry to hear about the passing of your mother in law, may God bring peace as you remember her. Terrible news about their furniture store, it is crazy how something you need can bring so much damage with it. Wishing the whole family a good 2015.
Lovely ornament too!

Dearest Linda,
i am so sorry to read your sad news about Hazel, your MIL but i am glad she was still here to see the birth of her great, great grandson. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I too will be glad to see the end of 2014 as i lost my best friend, my wee mum so know just how lost i am without her. So here is to a better 2015 and congratulations to your granddaughter on the birth of her baby prince, although not sure that you have got the right generations as you are not old enough to have a granddaughter of such an age.
Your beautiful church is so lovely and looks pretty all lit up on your tree.
Sending you love and hugs
