True Friendship...

Hello there dear friends!   Today I've made a vintage card to share with you using  Spellbinders new Majestic Elements Radiant Rectangles die template.  

I used the dry brush technique on all layers of this card shown in this video here,  and stamped the sentiment on vellum.  I sprayed the Seam Binding with water and glimmer mist to try and match the Teal color in the cardstock.

I'm so glad to be crafting again, both hubby and I are over the flu, with lots of rest we're up and running again. Thank all of you once again for your well wishes ;)   I love the cardstock used on today's card... it's so elegant.  I used different Spellbinder dies to create the layering, and the Bitty Blossoms die to make the flowers, then sprayed the flowers with Glimmer Mist.  I chose pink paper, and the Parisian Accents die to create a touch of color going down the left side of the card, then added my lace and ribbon. The sentiment "LOVE" came from the back of the paper pad as a die cut, I also added a touch of glitter, decorative stick pin, and finished with pretty bows.

Good Friends

Hello there, it's been busy the last few days due to DH still being sick with the flu, and not a lot of rest/sleep.  I did manage to sneak in my craft room yesterday, and make this card while he was sleeping.  I wanted to post it last night, but didn't get the opportunity because he needed attending to.  But today he looks a little better, and his fever is not as bad as yesterday (keeping fingers crossed).

I loved this stamp set the moment I saw it, it's has such a vintage feel don't you think?   I stamped the image on vellum cardstock, and soft pastel Copic Markers to color it in on the opposite side.  The side facing you is the stamped side.  I didn't want to cover the finished image with lots of embellishments, but it needed something... so the bow and decorative pin was it.  I lightly went around the edges with a gold pen, and smudged it with my fingers.

Hello dear friends, although I'm feeling much better my poor hubby has the flu now...  poor thing, I feel so bad for him.  I'm hoping he gets well soon.

Happy Valentine's Day...

Hi there, I'm so glad to be back again...  As most of you know, I have been sick with the flu for almost two weeks, and glad to say that I'm feeling much better now :)  I still get tired easily, but hopefully that won't last long. 

I have a sweet little card to share with you today wishing all of you a Happy Valentine's Day.  I hope you enjoy your Valentine's Day with loved ones, I know I will.  This card is layered with foam tape between each layer, and pearls from Want2Scrap. I couldn't resist using that little flower from Prima, it's so cute, and the color is perfect.  I went around the edge of the wings/heart with a Copic Marker, and used twine for the bow.

Hello there, first I want to thank you for all the well wishes.  I have the flu, but I'm feeling better except still very tired.  This is another short post (I'm sorry), but I'm going to get back under the covers, watch TV, and maybe get some sleep.

This card has lots of layer with foam tape between each one.  The flower has White Gesso painted on the pink paper, and the little pink scallops are from the back of Lil' Primrose paper pad, everything else was cut/embossed with the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment using Antique Valentine Tags One.

XOX - Happy Valentine's Day

Hi there, today's card is one my Granddaughter ask me to make so she could give it to a friend, we came up with this sweet and simple idea.  She picked the paper and ribbon, but I added my two cents worth, and said the pearls were a must, it needed bling!  

I'm going to be away from the computer for a few days, we are getting ready for a Super Bowl party, but I will be back next week.  I hope you have a safe, BUT fun Super Bowl Sunday...  GO 49ERS!!!!!

Hi there, today's card was fun to make, but also a challenge...  I say challenge because the paper I used was from a 6 x 6 paper pad, but the die templates were 5 x 7.   I made a short video showing you how to use larger die templates with smaller cardstock.  I also changed the bright yellow background paper so it would work better with my design, and not be so bright.

Shell Beauty 3D M-Bossabilities

Hi there, have you ever just wanted to play with new stamps/dies/techniques what ever it is, and have no plan for what you are making, just enjoy the tools you were playing with? That's the story about today's card... just having fun with the process of creating :)  One of my goals this year is to step outside my comfort zone, and try new and different styles/techniques of creating.  That's hard for me, I've always been so structured with what I make, and never really just let go.  This should be an interesting journey :)

I started with Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basic "A" Nestabilities, then cut (no emboss) Vanilla cardstock. With different colors of Glimmer Mist, spritz the inside of the M-Bossabilities folder (whichever side you want).  Place your cardstock in the folder, and run it through the Grand Calibur, set it aside and let dry.  I used the drybrush technique and Distress Inks to add color, but not to much.  I wanted a little more color, so I used Copic Markers over the inks, making sure not to take away from the soft background.  I wanted the M-Bossabilities folder to be the focal point of the card, so I didn't want to add to many embellishments, just the sentiment with twine. 

My pictures are darker so you can see the beautiful detail of the 3D M-Bossabilities folder.

True Friend - Bronze Hobnail Bezel

Hello there dear friends, I couldn't wait to share today's project with you.  It's using Spellbinders new Bezels and ICE Resin.  I must admit, at first I was a little skeptical about working with them, but after making a few practice pieces, and watching video's on YouTube by Susan Lenart Kazmer™ here, I think I finally got the hang of working with Resin. It's so much fun, and I can't seem to make them fast enough LOL!!  But here's a video by Stacey and Susan telling you all about this exciting new line.

We all know we can only keep cards for a short period time right, they end up in the trash, or a box in the closet (nothing wrong with that.)   Today's project has a duel purpose, first it's a lovely card for my dear friend.  Second, when my friend no longer wants to display her card, she can remove the necklace, and keep it for years to come.   She will always remember how special she is as a friend, I even signed the back :)  My kids are super excited about this new line, I've been given a long list of things they want LOL!!

Edit added: I made the rose using pink cardstock,  Spellbinders™: Standard Circles LG, Nestabilities®, and painted it with White Gesso Acrylic Primer.

 

I wanted to show you what I did for the chain on the back, I taped the plastic bag it came in as shown before I added my final layer to this card.
