Hello there, I'm so glad to be home from our road trip last week. Our first stop was the Grand Canyon where we stayed all night. (I live in central California).
We continued heading east, and as you can see in the picture below my DH decided he wanted to go with us. I'm thankful he did because between him and my daughter they did most of the driving, and we had a blast. We were in New Mexico, and it was beautiful, the colors were awesome.
This is another picture of New Mexico, it was breath taking, and very colorful.
We continued driving for 15 hours straight and ended up in Waco TX, needless to say it was a very long day, so we decided to spend a couple days there before heading home.
While in Waco, I was excited about visiting/shopping at Joanna Gains "Magnolia Market". I love her show on HGTV; "Fixer Upper", and record every episode. When she's finished with a home I always wish it was mine LOL. Of course I did purchase several items while there, and plan on visiting her online store :). The picture below is of my daughter Tammy, my dog Cassie and me taken in front of her store. It was a cloudy/windy day. We Love TEXAS!!!
Now about today's post.
For this project, I thought I would do something a little different. What I mean by this is to make a card you can put in a regular envelope, and drop in the mailbox. Most, or all of my cards require a box which means extra postage, and a trip into the Post Office to mail it. I will be honest, this style is difficult for me, and my hats off to the crafters who make beautiful clean and simple cards. I'm going to keep trying because I want to give these type of card sets as stocking stuffers for Christmas. I know Christmas is a long way out, but I'm a slow crafter so I need to start now LOL!
I used We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make the card box that can hold up to four/five cards depending on the embellishments. I embossed Spellbinders Chevron Border die template across the front, and added some sequins, then used some seam binding to go around the box like a belly band, and tied a bow in the front. On the card fronts, I cut/embossed four different pieces of scrap paper (pastels,) using the Chevron Border die, and glued them to the card. Then I used different colors of the pastel paper left over from the chevron pattern and glued them in place. Finally I cut/embossed white Fun Foam to create four different sentiments, and glued them and sequins to the card front. (I'm hooked on sequins) LOL!
That’s it for now, remember all supplies are listed below with links, and you can click on the images for a better view.
